With a deep-rooted passion for tax resolution and helping clients navigate bankruptcy, John Sterbick is a distinguished professional with a legacy of legal expertise passed down through generations.
Drawing inspiration from his grandfather, Joseph B. Lee, a renowned accountant and mentor, John developed a keen understanding of the IRS from an early age. Continuing the family tradition, both his father and sister pursued successful careers as attorneys in Tacoma, Washington.
In 1985, John furthered his legal education at Seattle University School of Law, specializing in Federal Tax Law. Graduating in 1988, he embarked on his legal career by establishing his practice at Sterbick, Abel, & Sterbick, a distinguished Tacoma law firm.
Throughout his career, John discovered that numerous tax debts could be effectively resolved through Chapter 7 bankruptcy or manageable payment plans under Chapter 13. This realization led him to expand his expertise and venture into bankruptcy law in 2009. His firm has since discharged millions of dollars of IRS debt for countless clients, earning a reputation for excellence in tax resolution across Pierce County and greater Washington State.
Beyond his legal practice, John finds solace in the embrace of his loving family—a cherished wife and children who bring joy to his life. When not actively representing clients or engaged in family activities, he enjoys ballroom dancing and golf.
